DIY Dollar Tree Laundry Room Signs

I was in Dollar Tree and I came across these laundry room decals I just knew I had do get them and make signs for my laundry room.  I walked around trying to find something I can put the decals on I didn’t want a picture frame then I seen the pizza pans and I was thinking they would work so I bought the decals and the pizza pans and went home to work.  I just love how they came out and they are super easy to make.  Oh I also got the ribbon from dollar tree and I already had the paint and polyacrylic from other projects so they only cost me $5.

Drilling The Holes For The Ribbon Hanger

If you do not want to drill holes you can also you the picture hanging command strips. Place your ruler at the top of the pizza pan then slide it down until it measures 8 ½” across. Mark both sides on the rim of the pizza pan, this is were you are going to drill your holes for the ribbon.

Painting and Distressing The Pizza Pans

I tried painting them with spray paint and brush painting them with chalk paint and I have decided that I like the painting them with the chalk paint I kind of like the look of the brush marks they give it an older look. It took 3 coats of paint to cover the pizza pan. I forgot to take a photo of the one I was chalk painting. After you have painted the pizza pans and they are dry take the steel wool pad and sand around the outer rim to give it a distressed look. In the photo I am using sandpaper but the steel wool works much better. Wipe clean with a cloth.

Applying and Sealing The Decals

Peel off the decals and arrange them on the pizza pans the way you would like. Make sure you rub them and that there is no bubbles in them. Once you have all the decals placed onto the pizza pans you are going to want to seal them. Using a sponge brush apply the polyacrylic to the entire front of the pizza pan let dry then apply a second coat

Adding The Ribbon Hanger

Now that the sealer has dried you can add your ribbon hanger. Cut a 18” piece of your ribbon. Take one end of the ribbon and insert it into the hole through the back of the pan. Tie a knot. Next repeat this step to the other end of the ribbon in the other hole.
